The development history of AOI
Automatic Optical Inspection (AOl) is an effective detection method for industrial automation. It uses machine vision as the detection standard technology and is widely used in LCD/TFT, transistor and PCB industrial processes. It can be extended to the security system for people's livelihood. Automatic optical inspection is a common representative method in the industrial process. It uses optical methods to obtain the surface state of finished products, and uses image processing to detect defects such as foreign matters or abnormal patterns. Because it is a non-contact inspection, semi-finished products can be inspected in the intermediate engineering.
AOI is a new testing technology that has recently emerged, but it has developed rapidly. Many manufacturers have introduced AOI testing equipment. Taking SMT detection as an example, during automatic detection, the machine automatically scans the PCB through the camera, collects images, compares the tested solder joints with the qualified parameters in the database, checks the defects on the PCB through image processing, and displays/marks the defects through the display or automatic marks for repair by maintenance personnel.
